I was trying to email a very large file the other way and it was just too large to be sent as an attachment. The file was like 600MB and Winrar couldn't compress it to a size that could be emailed. I also tried 7-Zip and Winzip but the size still remained large and I just had to reduce the file size to something that could be easily uploaded. I googled out for an alternative compression tool that could do a much better job and came across KGB Archiver. It's just another compression tool like the rest but what makes it different is its extremely high compression rate. I was surprised to see a file of 600MB reduced to a little over 5MB.
With KGB Archiver, you can save your hard disk space and compress your a whole DVD movie to a very small size and upload easily to file sharing sites or send it in an email. The compression rate surpasses every other compression tool I've come across. It uses AES-256 encryption to encrypt archives but it's got it's strength and weakness too.

Things You Should Know

Due to the high compression rate, it takes rather too long to compress files. You need to wait for hours to compress a 1GB file and definitely can't use it if you're in a hurry.

Though, it isn't the fastest compression tool around, it's definitely worth the wait as your data is reduced to as low as 2% the original size and there's absolutely no data loss.

How To Use KGB Archiver

You can compress your data in either in the regular .ZIP format or .KGB format but I prefer zip because it can also be decompresses by other tools sush as winrar. To Decompress a file in KGB format, you need KGB archiver so it is useless if you're gonna send such movie or attachment with a weird format to someone through email.

- Run the application
- It should ask for which file you want to compress, select the file
- After selecting, you get two options asking which format you want
- Select ZIP format ( I prefer this)
-Then set compression level to maximum (maximum the compression level)
-Just ignore the time given below it because its not accurate useless

There is option that to auto shutdown your computer whwn the compression is done. So you can start it and go to work or school or better still, start it just when you're about going to be at night. It takes a pretty long time (sometimes, hours, depending on the file size and compression level) but it's definitely worth it. Imagine a whole 4 GB DVD movie compressed to barely 50 MB!
