Reduce File Size & Compress 1GB File/Movie/Data To Just 10MB

I was trying to email a very large file the other way and it was just too large to be sent as an attachment. The file was like 600MB and Winrar couldn't compress it to a size that could be emailed. I also tried 7-Zip and Winzip but the size still remained large and I just had to reduce the file size to something that could be easily uploaded.
